Hi all

basically, my raptor hard drive is in for repairs atm, and so I want to resintall vista onto my hard drive, that i use for storage, until i get my raptor back.

but the storage drive contains a lot of photographs and videos that i dont want deleted - as I have no way of getting into windows, can I transfer data from the hard drive to my USB stick in DOS??

When I go through the setup on vista like normal, it doesnt give me an option to partition the drive, so i dont want it installing vista over my pictures and deleting them all.

thanks in advance :P

use some thing like partition magic to resize the existing partition and then create one for the install of vista?

use a linux live boot cd to transfer your photos etc off onto the usb drive?

thank you for your swift reply, i have actually found a program that can copy the pictures onto my external USB drive, its running at the moment.

thanks, its just i want to be careful as this drive is the only one to have all my pics - will teach me to make more backups :D lol
