Transferring Windows 7 to another computer

I have a copy of windows 7 professional installed on my iMac and I have just purchased a new build. If I uninstall the windows on the iMac and the install it on the build, will my serial work ok or do I need to contact Microsoft?

If its a retail copy then you should be ok with that.
If it was oem then you will need to purchase a new licence.

There's a chance with such a radical hardware change you may have to phone to activate, but it would be a very minor inconvenience.

As Iceman has said, if it's a retail copy you're perfectly entitled to remove it from one machine and install on another.
