Actually the thread is 4 pages long... unless you're using noob-view of course.;) I just haven't had chance to see it yet, and ALL movie threads with spoilers usually have a spoilers warning.

:) i am i noob view. :(

But don't worry, the film aint that good anyway.

Saw this tonight for the first time, was very surprised to see how busy the cinema was to be honest.

Simply loved it :) Loved the action, it's the best CGI I have ever seen, all looked so smooth and free flowing. Superb :)

Well, I watched this last night... mixed feelings.

The first half was bloody amazing... it was like watching my childhood come to life. I was expecting corniness to the extreme and instead was pleasantly surprised by a witty script and decent acting all-round. I was pretty gripped.

Then the second half rolled on...

Aghhh what happened! All of a sudden some god-damn awful characters were introduced and it's as though they suddenly thought "Meh, I can't be arsed to continue putting the effort into a quality script, i'll just stick in the standard cheese lines/jokes and play it safe". It all fell apart. I was bitterly dissappointed on almost all counts by the time the credits rolled, except the amazing special effects of course. It could have been soooo great... instead it ended up on a par.

3/5 for me.

Ages old thread but i second the first post, i really enjoyed it at the cinema, when optimus prime said 'I, am Optimus Prime' everyone in the cinema cheered

Ah, I went to the Pre-screening in Luxembourg (im from there) back before it was released and the sound didn't match the film!!!
They had to restart the film halfway into it, but nonetheless the film was allright in my book.
Love story sucked and I'd hoped for more robot fights but it was ok at least, although Michael Bay should be barred from ever doing films again!

I'm a huge fan but in all honesty I was disappointed.

Do you know who the autobots remind me of? Archer and the good guys out of Small Soldiers. Rather goofey incompetents that need the humans to aid them against the Deceps.

Everytime a fight starts the camera switches to the humans looking worried. The fighting is far too up close and its hard to see what is going on - the city fight is really bad.

Frenzy is a joke. Bay needed and got his very own Jar Jar.

The timing is appaling. Bumblebee/Barricade fight is rubbish.

Deceps were no more than cannon fodder and all but a passing comment with no substance to it of the animosity between Starscream and Megatron.

I kept expecting Megatron to call Optimus "Mr Anderson". Why use Frank Welker in the game but not the film?

Couldn't be bothered to correct Brawls (Devastor) name.

Why take the fight to a city?

And nothing will ever make up for missing the one opportunity to allow the other naff bits in the film in order to see Prime and Megatron fight at the dam. They both had the weapons used in the cartoon dam fight albiet with Prime having a sword rather than an axe.

And just to cheer me up, Bay has agreed to TF2.

3/5 for me.

You are joking aren't you? I haven't seen such a corny, predictable and stereotypical film since, well since the last so-called 'hollywood blockbuster'.

I'd give it 2/5 and it's only speical effects that stop it from getting 0.5/5

The last 1 hour was awful!
The old animated Transformers Movie wins hands down!

Also I was expecting Megatron to turn into Gun or Canon, which didn't happen.

I'd give it 2/5.

Also I was expecting Megatron to turn into Gun

One reason for not being a gun was the same reason Soundwave isn't in the film. You couldn't have something so small becoming a full sized bot. Irrespective of the allspark shrinkage.

Also, even though most US citizens reportedly have guns, use of a gun as a robot disguise in a film for children wouldn't go down well.

In the US they even have to put a silly bright yellow plug in the end of the "Masterpiece" toy of Megatron either to show it can't be fired or to show that someone holding it in the open won't get shot themselves

First hour was dreadful, too much fannying about with emotions and stuff, the last half was muuuuuuuuch better :D
