Does anyone else play this yet?

Its in Beta at the minute and I got a e-mail yesterday leting me know I ahd been accepted to play it.

So fair its really fun, though finding games is a little hard due to the lack of people I think?

Not sure on the progression model or in game econmey etc yet, but its looking good - Well I think so.

I stumbled upon it by accident - was looking for details fo the new Transformers movie

Sent the details in and got a the e-mail last night saying I could join early so spent a hour last night mooching about in there - a little intuative and strange to start with but it seems ok to me

Had a blast on this last night and I have to say the Transformers look real nice and the animations when you transform from vehicle to Transformer and vice versa is pretty awesome. Pvp is pretty good too, but the "pve" in the open world needs a lot of polish and some kind of direction.

I tried it, and wanted to like it, but I didn't.

The PvE is directionless as someone mentioned, and I couldn't get in to the PvP.

The robots do look cool though.

There are PvE group dungeon style events in game now - from the main pve area look for permanent 'portals'. Entering one will put you in to a queue for a particular map. The maps themselves have various objectives around kill x number of enemies, break shields and secure an area, build turrets and defend an area and have several large raid style bosses.

Overall I'm enjoying the game now that I've got the hang of it. The PVP depends on working with your team mates as a unit or you will get steam rolled pretty quickly. This was immensely frustrating when I first started playing or when you get a team of noobs intent on doing their own thing.

Combat is fairly balanced now and I've seen less rage quits from a losing team than during the closed beta.

The best way to turn around a match is to see what classes the rest of your team are playing and fill the gap. A successful team needs the standard groupings of tank/heavy + healer/medic + ranged/sniper + dps.

The vehicle modes are a nice distinction that allow you to quickly travel around the map or try to run away at low health. Chasing down a fleeing opponent at high speed is fun. If my team is losing, the opposite team are probably camping the spawn exit. It's often worth using the sniper bot to bait them on a merry chase around the map while you team mates regroup.

The graphics have improved dramatically from closed beta - for a free-to-play game this is never going to look like Crysis or even War for Cybertron / Fall of Cybertron as it is designed as a browser based game. There is now a stand-alone installer that allows most machines to run at max gfx. I'm using an AMD Phenom II BE 4 core with 8gb and an ATI 6950 2gb without even a hint of any gfx issues. Lighting & shading are basic but at least shadows are not the blocky mess that SWTOR presented us with :p

My only real criticism of the game at this point is that pve is not fleshed out and what is present is generic team based shooter gameplay that doesn't make specific use of you controlling transforming robots. You also need to acquire in-game currency to purchase additional bots, which takes a day and an age and so is not friendly to casual gamers like me who cannot commit vast amounts of time to the game.
