Transit visa - wtf?

I guess you got fined £80 because you didn't pay?

I paid when I was on the shuttle bus, it wasn't luck. Hence the £5.

There as no pay spot I could see except blocking the thoroughfare and it was a wrong turn on my first day at work.. who incidentally owned the airport.. not that I work there anymore!

No-one pays APCOA. Going into a zone and driving through it CANNOT lead to a parking charge, because no parking took place. Immediately ticketing for driving in is not allowed. In future send them this (making sure you do not tick any box which identifies you as the driver):

As your Parking Charge Notice does not comply with the requirements of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (Schedule 4), you are, in law, unable to hold the registered keeper of the vehicle liable for the parking charge; I suggest therefore that you contact the driver. As there is no legal requirement placed on the registered keeper to identify the driver, I will not be doing so.'.

Pretty sure that advice is now well outdated... IIRC parking companies now have a legal right to request who the driver was, and if the RK fails to do that then they themselves automatically become liable.

Not outdated at all:

Seems like a tool to manage illegal immigration by pre screening people from high risk countries who intend to pass through the UK with aim of reducing incidence of transit passengers claiming asylum etc.

People complain about uncontrolled immigration, people complain when there is a control in place.

First world problems.

Less aircraft cluttering up UK airspace is fine with me.

This is to prevent someone like that Iranian making the airport his home ( The Terminal movie )

Does anyone actualy use Heathrow as a transit airport? I always felt it was a Terminal ( excuse the pun ) airport.
Where do people come from and then take connecting flights to where? The US?

Anywhere where BA flies. My brother in law for example is flying from South Africa to Berlin, and had a stopover at Heathrow as he was flying BA. That's now Egyptair because of this visa nonsense.
