Transition from runflats to non-runflats

Old man has AS2's on the front and Dunny RFT's on the back of his E90 drives a lot better than it did with the Dunny RFT's all round (he's going AS2 on the back when the RFT's have worn out).

It did upset the tyre pressure monitoring to start with but that seems to have sorted itself.

Cool, will check it out.

I am looking at the moment at

Dunlop
SP SportMaxx RT MFS AO
205/55 R16 91 W

Anyone have an oppinions on those? they seem to have pretty positive reviews.

Unfortunatly I dont have £150 per corner to spend on tyres.

Also been looking at bridgestone, contis and goodyear but not sure which ones to go from on their ranges.

Hi all,

Just as a note I went for Dunlop Sportsmaxx in the end, 205/55 R16 91W

I have no done any motorway stints yet, so not sure of the fuel economy, but around town I have noticed quite a drop, I used to average around 42-45mpg around town, however I seem to be getting an avg of 35mpg atm, so I am estimating around 42-45mpg on motorway careful driving

Not sure if its because its softer compound tyres, generally the economy rating on my old runflats were a worse (2 marks worse) than the economy on the ones im running on now.

Is this normal or am I just being paranoid.

They have around 36psi on all 4 corners.

There is no way you were averaging 45mpg around town unless by around town you mean careful laps of the ring road with a warm engine.

More like the early 40's around town, but if im careful then a little more.

I was seeing my mpg dropping as low as 20-25 in some cases, although not sure if thats just false readings

I wont know until I do a a few more runs on a warmer engine, and a motorway run, which I am going to do later.

Actually I take that back. Seems better than my old ones. Just done a motorway stint and getting more than what I used to get
