Soo I'm looking at retrieving the final few bits of mine from my old house (down in Essex)

Said items include a pc/monitor some spare pc parts & a few dvd's. Short of packing it into a box and paying someone to deliver it to me.. what would someone sugest to pack it into and physically drag it back up with me Saturday? :p

please note i'll be taking the train down there as I dont drive

Put it in the boot of your car then fill all the rest of the avaliable space in there with expanding foam. This will ensure it is unable to slide around and get damaged.

PK!

I'd take that option but its quite literally sitting in an empty room since I moved out last year. Boxes are long gone

Sensible answer - use a duvet or some blankets to pack it in, just lay them flat in the boot and dont drive like a rallyist on the way back. Just check everything is still connected inside when you get back home and you should be fine.

PK!

PK I do like the idea f foaming it as such into a boot! but unfortunately I'm one of those public transport nuisances!

I'm guessing at best a massive suitcase and hope it fits!

Can you not get a mate to help you and drive down with him?

It's going to be a right pain to lug that back on a train, and I expect delivery wouldn't be that cheap if you want it properly insured (then again I haven't checked recently).

I'm just weighing up the fact i've got about £40 spare atm which isnt enough for fuel costs and just covers my train tickets :( + the short notice of it! as it needs to be gone by this sunday!

Sack barrow? Put it all in a box, bungee it to the sack barrow and get back on the train - that or get a mate with a car to help out for some beer/beer money.

I think that option is looking appealing, it's just the monitor that concerns me! the pc/case I dont mind to much about as a lot of parts will be swapped out up here!

yeah i forgot to mention that my true intention is actually to bring a few bodies back in a suitcase..

Fella, Jamie and I are planning on heading up your way some time later in the year. If it's just a small box, I'm sure he won't mind bunging it on the boot on the way. Depends if you need the stuff ASAP as I can't say for certain when such a venture will occur. Although I suppose there's also the small problem of storing it until then too.

Judging by the replys you need either:
Two big pillow.
A duvet or some blankets
Some expanding foam.

Oh, AND A CAR!!
Read the op people :o

Seriously, is there too much stuff to fit in a big box? Just pack the stuff in and make sure the monitor is safe. Then carry that and the Case with you on the train?
