My gf and I are currently traveling in SE Asia. We saw some adverts for long stay visits at hostels for a heavily discounted price.

I didn't know these existed. Thinking about it, long stay places may prove to be very useful when we go to Australia, 1 because it could save a lot of money, and 2, because it may also save the hassle of moving around.

Anyone know of any places to go to look for long stay hostels, or maybe even renting a little holiday chalet (there will be 2 of us)?

The ones we saw advertised in Thailand would save a serious amount of money, does the same apply to Oz or is the saving less?

My partner and I are looking to hit New Zealand once we have the cash, and are looking at moterhomes at an option. It's realitvely cheap (we looked at 3 months) and gives youthe freedom of movement without the hassle.

The idea is big in NZ and seems (from the sites we've been looking at) to be just as big is Austrelia(sp). Might be worth thinking about?

We did think of it a long time ago. Especially when travelling from Melbourne to Sydney, but when I looked it didn't work out a very cheap option so kind of dismissed it. May be worth a better look...
