Travelling - Confusing!

Carry on bag is free, but check size limit, deodorant will be no go.
But again full list of banned items can be found on the airports website.

And carry on bag size will be in T&Cs for your purchase or in FAQ on the flights website.

Deo is fine to take on with you.

ooo nice I did wonder how the e booking thing worked. I go on holiday next week and wasn't really sure what I was meant to do haha

Thought of something else. :p

Do you need to go through the whole check-in process again for connecting flights?

No, Continental will check you right though to your destination. You should get boarding passes for your connecting flights at initial check in. Same goes for your bags. They'll be checked through to your final destination unless you have an overnight stopover. You will still have to collect your bag, carry it though customs and "re-check" it, i.e. throw it on a belt. The tag on the bag will be labelled with your final destination. Unless you're switching to a different carrier which doesn't have an interline agreement with your first carrier.

Depends on the airport, some will allow you to just transfer with out going through check in again if they have secure joint terminals, others wont.

The terminal layout is irrelevant. You can still be checked through to destination if you have to transit to a different terminal via a non-airside route. They'll even do it when connecting at different airports. I flew LHR-IAD then had to make my way over to another airport, DCA for my connecting flight. They still checked me all the way through. I'd have had to have rechecked hold luggage if I had it however I was hand luggage only which generally makes travelling a lot easier.

So, I have just over an hour from I land in New Jersey and take off for Austin. Aren't processing times for check-in like an hour?

You don't have to check in again. You'll take off from Belfast (I assume?) with your boarding pass for the EWR-AUS flight in hand. A 1hr connection is tight in EWR though. Immigration processing and going through security again can take a lot longer. My experience of arriving at that time of the day has been a total of about 90 minutes on average for immigration and security. Don't worry though. If you miss your connection you'll be automatically rebooked on the next available flight. I tend to avoid booking connections tighter than 90 minutes through busy hubs. It makes for a less stressful time.

Oh, and if you are going to miss your connection, don't try to blag your way to the front of the immigration line. Everyone has a connection to make and if you try to skip you could end up right at the back of the line. :p

I was pretty lucky last time - 45 minutes from plane to suspended LIRR service at Jaimacia Station through JFK, despite arriving at 15:20 alongside several more European flights :D

Are you not checking bags in? You'll normally need to proceed to bag drop first and drop your bag.

Yeah I'll have a suitcase.

Here's the itinerary:

Had I thought about it beforehand, I'd have looked for a longer time between connections.

Have installed the Continental Airlines app so I can check-in via that.
