Travelling to Uni Interviews

It's entirely optional for the interviewer.

When I went for my uni interviews, and my job interviews as a student, my travel costs were funded as long as they were reasonable. For most places that meant a standard class rail or bus ticket or a mileage rate for fuel. Taxis were a no-no.

Don't ask, don't get. Nothing to lose :)

Universities can be pretty accommodating - ring them up and express how keen you are but that you'll need a little help to get there.

Most employers DO pay interview expenses.
Is that something relatively new?

I have never experienced it, there again I would never ask for a prospective employer to cover the costs.

Graphic Design.

Applied to Uni Of Ulster, John Moores Liverpool, York College, Swansea Met, Uni of Wales

Queens have 'Creative Media' but I felt a more specialised course would be more beneficial to me.

I was going to be studying Engineering at Swansea Met, it's such a small uni, more like a specialist college! Good for my specific course though, nowhere in the country really provide it.

No reason you can't ask.

What I remember though from when I went to University interviews and open days, some years ago now, is that they tend to organize them over a day or a few days. So trying to arrange one for another day may mean you could still be shown around the Uni, but might not get the one-on-one or full spiel from the actual faculty you are looking to go into.
