Tree sap all over my car

Outdoor car cover? The only downside to a car cover is how hot it would get depending on the time of year and possibly the attention it would attract as in "there must be something shiny and expensive under there" and you end up with your window caved in again.
These are not a good idea due to the light haze scratches they put in the paint work. Unless your car is completely spotless and it fits perfectly, they just rub dirt into the paint work.
A lot are silver to reflect the sun so the heat isn't an issue and regarding attracting attention, they have been proven to do the complete opposite, they effectively make the car invisible when parked among other vehicles, no thief wants to faff about with a car condom.

Bought some car shampoo and bug remover this morning, and carried a bucket of hot water down to the car. Managed to get a bit off the windscreen, but there's still loads on the side windows and paint that just won't come off.

A bit of googling has found me a place which looks like the French equivalent of Halfords, so I'm going down there tomorrow to see what they can do for me.

We get a lot of strong wind here, so having thought about it, I'm cautious of getting a car cover as I don't want to damage the paint with it rubbing against it.

Seems to be seasonal mine is covered too, then we had some wind that blew dust that stuck in it. If you wash it straight away it comes off, but leave it a week and it sets like varnish.
