Managed to get rid of it. Nail polish didn't touch it i'm afriad. I had to resort to some far stronger.

I have a bottle of AutoGlym Insect remover which claims to also do tree sap, although I beleive there is a product specifically for sap.

Hot water on a tea towel and leave it for aslong as its hot then scrub off with more hot water

yup. or soften it with some other heat source then clean off with mild detergent

Try some hot water... worked for me! Pine sap's awful stuff though, like a super sticky version of that glue they used to stick CDs to the front of magazines with!
