In France last week went for an evening stroll and passed by a copse and was struck by the patterns of late light falling on the thin trees. No post-processing done, I know some areas are too dark but simply wanted to show the light and blue tinge the setting sun gave.
Put it up on TP for some comments but would like to see what you guys think.

That first one is utterly fantastic; the light is sublime. I really like the second one too, but something looks a bit odd with the top half on my screen - almost like its more of a drawing than a photo.

Nice couple of shots, I agree that you probably need to increase the light levels slightly and maybe a bit of saturation or levels to bring out the subtle colours.
If it had been me I would have possibly tried a smaller dof to blur the background trees in the first so you don't see the background, not sure if that was possible with the lens you used.

Thanks for the comments. They were taken with a 100-400L, the 1st one at full stretch and wide open so the opportunities for increasing DOF somewhat limited.
I went out originally looking for some deer that had been sighted earlier but they obviously saw me first!
I'll have bash at some post-processing later.
