trees

just got back in after being in a huge traffic jam.

when i finally got to the front i was totally appauled to see that the council are chopping about 15 mature (over 100 years old each) trees down on the island

now i'm not a tree hugger or anything, but it totally makes me sick how literally thousands of years old trees get simply chopped down in a day :( it was a really pleasent and colourful roundabout in the summer too :(

anyone know who i target my complaint at at the council?

Is this the Gildersome roundabout in Leeds? Because its just happened there, and i was really really shocked :( such a shame.

Are the trees being completely felled, or are they cutting them back? The chances are that the council will only take such drastic action if there is a strong chance of them being diseased, as this course of action is expensive and risks the wrath of the tree huggers.

If you really want to know what's going on anywhere, you should read the local planning applications in your local paper. This is a good way of keeping up with council doings in any area.
