It's good practice for my upcoming exams, I might as well try it

And possibly, I just went for whatever made it a bit shorter to write.

Actually, I think the equation does hold just fine, if theta is equal to alpha then tarzan has stopped moving when he lets go, therefore he just plummets, so the height *is* irrelevant, excellent

Indeed, 45 degrees is not necessarily the angle for this as we need the angle that compromises angle with velocity
