Every time i try to open the app a doctor dump comes up. I have seen a lot of people have had similar issues, just seeing if anyone knows any fixes?

I would take a look on G.Skill's forums mate, their techs are fairly active in replying to posts. I installed a pair of Trident Z RGB sticks yesterday and until the problems are sorted I'm not installing the software. I'm fine with the default rainbow pattern at the moment.
Get rid of that rubbish app quick, also go into program files (x86) and get rid of all the ASUS rubbish it puts on there too, inside the ASUS folder theres a folder called AsLedService or something like that, you will need to use the uninstaller and then get rid of the folder completely as these dont get removed when you remove the G.Skill app, you may also need to end a couple of services before you can delete it, like ASUS com service if I remember correctly, once its all gone, reboot your computer.
Now take a look at my video here on how to get it working: https://youtu.be/JyHEKE3spgw
details are in the description, once installed, reboot your computer, open services.msc and make sure both of the new 2 ASUS services are running, if not, start them, I had the same problem as you, but this worked for me on an MSI motherboard and also a Gigabyte motherboard.
