Found out about scratch x from a thread on here the other day, so I done some research on it and tried it yesterday on the car. Below are the results, which are impressive I think. :)

Not sure if that was straight after applying scratch x or super resin polish, but you can see from the results that its looking good - a lot of the scratches and swirls have gone now.... not bad for an 8yo car. :)

Looks awsome! :D

I always used mine as touch ups rather then using it on the whole car.

But looks like some good results!

The problem with pictures is that they lie.

Look how amazing the paint is on the Xantia!

In truth, the exterior was sheddy.

Difference being that his car is dry :p

Your right though pictures cover up a hell of a lot of inperfections.

Having said that it does look bloody good for an S plate.

Yeah pictures do cover a lot of imperfections.

But I can honestly say that the scratchx has removed a lot of minor scratches and swirls, and that the paintwork is in much better condition. For £9 and a bit of elbow grease, I recommend it to anyone :)

Did you forget to dry your car before you took photos?

Is Scratch X full of filler or is it something completely different?

I am planning on doing paint correction on my car firstly by removing surface impurities, then using a random orbital polisher along with Poorboys polish to get rid of all the swirl marks and scratches, then sealant, then wax.

Having bought an 18 month old car from a dealer the paintwork was pretty imacculate, but washing my pride and joy every week and giving it a polish soon left it with some very light sratches. I think it was likely caused by some grit or dirt in the was mit, but either way very annoying.

I bought some Scratch-X to have a go at removing the light marks and used a cotton polish pad to apply it, and was very disappointed, didn't think it gave any results at all. Reading this thread renewd my vigour to have another go. This time I used a cheap mirco-fibre towel (89p odd for 3 at Tesco's IIRC) and results were much better. At a guess Id say 90% of the light sratches came out with a little bit of effort.

To conlcude, I think it makes a massive difference what you use to apply and work with. I thought an applicator pad would have been best, but can only assume Scratch-X works best when applied with a 'textured' cloth.

Anyway, thumbs up from me, think Ill work on my car bit by bit and see how I go.

Is that before and after scratch x? Theres still swirl marks in the second picture....a significant amount.

Plus, that punto needs a wash pretty badly!
