Tried Scratch X Yesterday (Some Results)

That was before anything was done to the car and is what happens if you was a car with a sponge and one bucket, I didn't use scratch x on it as it was bad swirls but Menzerna Intensive Polish using a machine polisher after reading up on www.detailingworld.co.uk

That Punto was as far as I noticed only washed twice in the 2 and half years I lived there and if you thought the swirls were bad on mine the Punto was unreal and had rust spots due to the neglect.

Heres a link to the write up I did at the time if you are interested Clicky clicky, I can't just paste it here as it has too many pictures. I did get a bit carried away in the end but the car looked brand new but it was infact over 5 years old. I was only really reminded last night about the de swirl and pictures due to a post on here about Polo and I went looking for a photo. It was well over a year ago I did it and I no longer have the car.

Practically a 1 year anniversary thread revival.

Anyway, I ordered some ScratchX this week to try it on my 1999 Civic. As I previously mentioned in here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17779377&highlight=civic+username_DB_SamX , the car's paintwork is far from perfect, generally swirly, a couple of weird blobby shapes (effect of bird poo?) formed on the roof and bonnet, and noticeable female fingernail scratces near door handles (curse women near cars).

Result was that ScratchX doesn't do a lot for the fingernail scratches, however for hairline scratches and swirls, it definitely got rid or reduced them after some elbow grease and patience.

I think the plan for me will be to use it on obvious swirls/light marks on a panel at a time each time I wash the car. No way I'd be able to do the lot in one go.

Unfortunately, there is so much pollen nearby that the car was already under a film by the time I was waxing it.

Didn't take any pictures as the diference was not major - maybe next time I apply it.
