Trifire 16x 8x 8x atleast - Motherboard + cpu help

Then you'll have to wait.

Without an extra chip the best that any P67/Z68 board can do is x8/x8.

The chipset simply doesn't have any more PCI-E lanes.

I was under the impression PCI-E lanes was run via the CPU on Sandybridge and as such if you need more bandwidth split bewteen more lanes you need to wait for Ivybridge CPUs?

Would give you PCI-E 3.0 also?

Honestly just wait for 1 month, it won't kill you.

Another option is to stick with x8/x8 using a dual GPU card and a single card such as the 6990+6970. This will give you trifire and there's only a ~1% difference between x16/x16 and x8/x8.

They only supply so much bandwidth do these SB CPU's.
You can get PLX chips and NF200 chips which give bandwidth too.
