Trim info needed

Ok i've just brought and installed a Intel X25-M mainstream 80gb ssd and have my windows 7 x64 operating system and apps on but i did know what trim was. How do i install trim and would that mean i would have to reformat my drive. Please help a ssd novice please

Does trim set up on its own or is there imstructions on how to do it.

TRIM is on by default. You don't have to install or enable it manually.

I was told that i have to partition the ssd drive to use trim.Is This right and if right how do i go about it.

If you did a clean installation of Windows 7 onto the SSD then it will have partitioned the drive with the correct offset automatically.

When i brought the drive i formatted the drive and installed win 7 on it. So trim will have been setup then. Is there a way you can tell in windows.

Run cmd with admin privileges and type:

fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify

If it returns 0, TRIM is on.

Just wanted to add my thanks to Sweey, I've run it on mine and it tells me it's working.

I'm using a Crucial 128GB HDD.
