hi all just wandering what i need to get trim working on raid 0, ok now i know i need intel rst drivers 11.0 or above, i also need 2 ssd's or more, i also need a series 7 motherboard, which i have an x79 m/b, is there anything else before i dive in.

You need to check that your motherboard is at the latest Bios with Orom 11.6.xx, then it will open trim in Raid on the x79 series. Best drivers seem to be the 11.2.xx set.
What board to do have ?
There is lots of talk and threads on this subject now. Some links for you to go through :

cheers m8 i have the gigabyte x79 ud3, what is the orom, i take it that isnt anything to do with the bios.

actually that will be the intel rst drivers, same thing yea or no

The latest Bios for your board here : http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte/28441-gigabyte-latest-beta-bios.html
BIOS 12P

I am trying to find out if the latest Bios includes the 11.6 Orom into the bios. It seems the RST / RSTe is being merged into one now across all x79 Oems. Probabaly due to new information coming out about Trim working on X79 Boards and the community 'High End' Requests.

update : Your in Luck buddy - 12P now includes the OROM 11.6:

I dont really know your board throughout but being x79 was it RSTe ? Once you update to the latest revision you will have the option in the bios to switch between the two now.
Once Flashed do the normal cmos reset etc etc. If i am reading correctly from the top / start of your thread you will then need to Raid your drives. Set In bios Raid option , then on reboot Ctr+I To build your raid array. In windows i recommend the 11.2 drivers. Note, Most People seem to set their raid array to 128 fyi

thanks for that m8, i will give it a go at the weekend, now all i need to do is get a second ssd, they are on special offer this week so a tenner off, cant be bad.

well i have now updated my bios, all seems fine at the moment, while i was messing around i discovered i had put my intel 330 180gb ssd on the marvell controller as opposed to the intel one, so i swapped it around, did an ssd speed test, when i was on the marvell controller i was getting 330 mbs read, and 160 mbs write, now on the intel controller i am getting just over 500 on both read and write, nice improve i think although i shouldve put em in correct controller first time around.
