** TRIO OF WEEKEND BLOODY SILLY PRICES!! **

My Zotac 980 Ti arrived earlier and i'm VERY impressed :). The fans do actually turn off when idling (unlike the review sample over at Hexus) and they kick in at around 60C and remain pretty quiet too. My card actually boosts to 1290MHz by default without any tweaking which is a bonus! The ASIC score is 79.7% and the GPU temp seems to top out at around 70C so far when gaming (i'll stress it more later when I get the chance).

It's quiet, has nice temps, higher than advertised clock speeds and the build quality is great! It's the first Zotac product I've ever owned and i'm more than happy with it .

Cheers for the great offer at £499!

It is a very good cooler on the Zotac and at that price very good.

OC it and let us know how you get on. :)

I am kinda glad the stock is late as i canceled mine for 2 x Inno3D GeForce GTX 980Ti X3 Ultra 6144MB. There more expensive but still cracking price and there in stock, so looking forward to tomorrow!

Still the Zotac deal was good, there just later coming in than expected. I am sure we see that one coming back very soon.

I see a none reference Ino on the deal of the week for 509 and in stock, maybe that is something for you.

Na £500 is my cap and I wouldn't touch a reference design for love nor money. I will just wait longer and see what happens. See if the Nvidia price drop happens or if AMD gets their act together and adjust the Fury X price to suit its performance to price ratio.

Gibbo do you know if the Zotac Amp is a reference card underneath the aftermarket cooler? Can't seem to find any conclusive info one way or the other.

No reference cards with clocks for them, I would imagine that should give you an idea, no?

I need actual evidence or an official answer, not conjecture. I know that the Extreme is a custom PCB but there is nothing to say the AMP or ArcticStorm are not reference with aftermarket coolers and backplates on. The factory clocks on them are not huge at the end of the day.

Just get a 980 then.

Quick question, does the Zotac come with a backplate installed?

:D

Cracking cards, set it up with a 1:1 fan profile, silent all the way to 70% as 70c is the highest the temps have been even in this hot weather, boosts to 1253mhz out of the box and clocks all the way up to 1500mhz until I hit the power limit.

Give me a custom bios with 150% PL, 1.3v and some custom water, see this thing smash 16-1700mhz :D
