Can you put how long each journey was scheduled for and how long it actually took?
Train 1 (Vienna - Budapest)
08:42 - 11:19
This train was pretty much on time.
Train 2 (Budapest - Brasov)
17:40 - 10:00
Romania is +1hr. We arrived 11 minutes late..
Train 3 (Brasov - Sinaia)
11:10 - 12:12
We left 37 minutes late and we were still 37 minutes late when we arrived
Train 4 (Sinai - Bucharest)
15:15 - 16:58
We were on time
Train 5 (Bucharest - Sighetul Marmetiei)
21:24 - 10:45
We were about 6 minutes late
Train 6 (Solotvyno - Mukachevo)
13:40 - 18:54
We were a minute early
Train 7 (Mukachevo - Budapest)
20:37 - 06:00
Hungary is -1 hr. We arrived 3 minutes early
Train 8 (Budapest - Vienna)
08:40 - 11:20
We were 40 minutes late. We left Budapest over 30 minutes late, despite the train arriving well in time to leave on time, and just lost more time over the whole journey. In fact, pretty much every time I have done this leg, Budapest to Vienna, it's been inexplicably delayed.
Yeah I only had to share once, the train from Mukachevo to Budapest - there's no option to book a single and even the twins were booked up within minutes of going on sale.Great threadSounds like it was a memorable trip!
No sure i'd fancy sharing bunk cabins though...
