Im after a decent tripod for my Canon 400D when it arrives, want somethign decent dont wana buy no crap.

I like the Manfrotto range but i dont know anything about them all i know is they are meant to be good and are in all the magazines (5-6 magazines) that ive read.

What do you people think?

Cheers,

James.

With head :) Passed a store today that i didnt know existed so i poped in, he showed me a tripod that looked great, tilts anyway possible! Legs are very long, self adjustinc feet to suit the ground easy to use and so light its unbelieveable!

£30.. or £38 with a bag, i think im gonna go back and get it, looks good enough for me.

Ill find out the model in a week or 2 when i go back and get it.

The bag is almost 1/3 the price of the tripod?!? Sorry but if that were me, it'd be setting off alarm bells. As per all the other threads, tripods aren't a particularly sensible area to skimp on.

Don't be a mug and rush into things.

You've created a thread on here to ask so take heed of the advice that has been posted and buy a proper one.

Buy cheap, buy twice.

I bought a cheap Tripod from a certain blue store for £30 when I got my 350D initially....thought it was awesome, clunky and awkward to work with but i liked it....then I bought a proper Manfrotto one and head and couldn't believe the difference.

I paid in total £80 for my tripod and head, yes it was second hand but if you include the original tripod £30 I've spent £110.

£110 is over your budget, so do it properly and do it once. Ok? :)

I think with James07 camera post, we already know hes not likely to 'rush into things' :p

I got a freebie tripod from a mate, dont think its that study but got a more heavy duty tripod which will withstand anything. Better if you dont mind lugging a dead weight.

Yes take heed of what Phate said , i have had cheap tripods in the past always ended up throwing it away after a couple of years, This time i have gone for the manfrotto xbpro the craftmenship, is a lot better very solid, if you put on a 500 to 800 pound dlsr on a cheapo , you want to know its going to stay on, so go for the 100 pound tripod and it will last you years :)
Regards
John

Sorry that was harsh, I was rushing. Same applies though, don't rush into it. Spend the time, pick the right one for you, buy it, use it, enjoy it :)
