Hey everyone, been messing about over the weekend with my zoom lense, and obviously the wobble is quite a lot when full zoom on my D40.

Instead of buying a complete tripod, is there a "pole" (best way i can describe it) to use as a steady

Course!! Thats it, was having a blonde moment and had gone totally blank as to what they were called.

Only thinking of a monopod for max zoom photos with my 70-300mm lens and possibly some close up work with the macro function, so just after something light, easy to carry and adjust

Thanks for the quick reply guys

What sort of shutter speeds are you using at 300mm?

I use both monopods and tripods in low light. all depends on space, how dim the light is. am i going ot be mving about etc...

most of the time i take the tripod as it is not too heavy but i combine this with a shutter release to minimise and vibrations.
