I sat on one of these the other week and spoke to the owner, he was still running it in, which sounded like a ball ache. The throttle twist is fly by wire and felt very weird compared to a cable set-up. I loved it and can see it being my next bike.

It wont affect prices much. There are already some great bargains on new GS's with free accessories or £1k towards the finance, and if you look at the prices of the old 1150GS they are still incredibly strong.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the 1250 water cooled bike. Initial rumours are that its very good, but presumably it will be heavier than the current bike, and the air cooling and subsequent noise adds a lot of the bikes character.

I'd also be a bit reluctant to buy a new BMW model - they always seem to have niggles, and it took a good few years for them to get the 1200GS right. I know they have been testing this one longer than usual, but even so its a more complex bike.
