TROLLY RAGE!!

- Women with ******* pushchairs - i was in a small tesco's the other day and there was about 20 of them blocking up the aisles!

- Women who decide to have a chat in the middle of an aisle, blocking everyone else off.

- Old people/women who have no idea how to use the self-service checkout and spend just as long doing that than if they queued for a normal till.

When they see it as a challenge when you refuse their help to pack, so they throw it at you as quick as possible

This happens to me sometimes so I always decline.

I always pack my own stuff simply because the operators can sometimes be to enthusiastic in the packing which can result in burst packaging etc. Plus I pack different things in different bags - i.e. frozen together, fresh together, cleaning products together etc as it makes it so easier to unpack and put away when I get home.:)

I also hate people who use the express checkout / basket only / 10 items or less (which should read fewer!) with large shopping trolleys of food. I tend to the typical shake of the head when they look at me on hearing me moaning about it to the missus.

EDIT

People blocking the aisles for a bleeping gossip this just

This is so annoying – I don't understand why they do it. Do they think I'll suddenly buy a cumquat because they are now where the cucumbers used to be?

This is the single most annoying thing at the supermarket. It's not a ****ing race.

And to the person who said "it takes four times as long to pack bags for the customer so it's less efficient" how is it helping your efficiency by sitting there doing nothing while I'm packing all of the stuff that's piled up while you went on your little scanning sprint?

Supermarket shopping is the most soul destroying part of my week. :(

LOL
If this happens to me, i just go really slow making them wait......ha

Btw, i have found Lidls or Aldi or far worse than the big supermarkets, no goddamn bags unless you buy one !! Also no space to pack at all, plus the grumpy, charisma bypass, checkout person, which they invariably are, completely ignore the fact you have nowhere to pack or no bag to pack it in and just start scanning the next persons stuff ffs !! Next time i'm taking a friggin airhorn, gonna blast 'em with it, if it occurs again ..... lol

Oh, plus they always build them with 5 or 6 checkouts but only EVER use 2 at the most, usually just the one......waste of money imo.

I did work experience at my local Waitrose and I had to work in the fruit & veg section for ONE day. Some old guy walks up to me and just shouts a name of a vegetable I've never heard of and expects me to know.

I had a badge on saying 'work experience' quite clearly and when I said I'm sorry I do not know where it is and as soon as I said that he walked off in a strop swearing when I was just about to say let me just get my advisor around the corner :/

Old people are slow and extremely arrogant it annoys me so much :(

I've given up using the self-service checkouts at Asda and Morrisons, they seem like a buggy cheap crappy version of Tescos, which I've never had a problem with.

I do most of my shopping in Tesco or Morrisons, try to avoid Asda as much as possible, awful experience every time you go in.

Also, is it just me or does Asda attract extremely ugly people? Proper swamp donkeys.

Just the checkout, self service here means you carry your own scanner and scan while shopping so no problems with that but once in a while they randomly check if you haven't stolen anything which seems a bit far fetched when i often only go for one or 2 items, and then it takes 2-3x as long.

And of course, waiting lines and general busyness, I love to have the place for myself absolutely loathe shops when busy. I actually tend to avoid shops/bars/etc if I see the lines at checkout are too long, I'd rather come back when it's quiet.

Nothing, I shop when its quiet. I.E at night.

But then the shelves are empty and you compete with about 10 times more cages of stock blocking the aisles. I personally go peak times purely because the Aisles are faced up fresh from overnight workers and full of stock. I can't stand going when things are out of stock at night then I just have to come back again in the week. Fruit and veg is the worst. You go at night and sometimes entire sections are just empty. 24 hour stores are pointless for a full shop but good for when you need something particular at 2am.

Safeway had that first, please come back Safeway you were so much nicer then Morrisons.

Also with their green boxes and green box trolly you never needed bags, they were years ahead of this reusing the bag stuff.

Ugh, supermarkets are the worst

I pretty much refuse to go unless I've smoked before hand, that and headphones and I can zen the whole thing out, barely.

Nope this happens all the time, why :(

This happens as customers only go to the things they want so they will follow the same 'route' around the supermarket. By moving things, the customer will go to areas of the store they don't normally go to. This means they could discover something new or whatever.

They do this in clothes shops a lot.

Now I on the other hand I get my groceries, and as the girl scans them through I put them back into the cart.

I then pay and push the cart out to my car.

At this point I pack the stuff into the bags in my boot, return the cart and be on my way.

If more people did this it would greatly reduce the amount of time you have to stand in line especially when it's busy.

I've never experienced someone who watches as all of their purchases are scanned through, pays and then starts packing at the checkout.

Why don't you do what 99% of the population does and pack your bags and the items are scanned through? Surely you're just making more work for yourself. It's not really saving anyone else any time either because the time it takes you to stick stuff back in your trolly could be spent bagging them.

*EDIT* My girlfriend and I were at ASDA earlier and encountered almost every point that has been raised in this thread. I hate supermarkets with a passion.

Product repositioning, One week cereal is in one place the next week its in a totally different location, unless this just applies to the Longton Tesco aha.

I get people coming up to me all the time saying "oh, you've moved (x) again, where is it?" - No, we haven't. In fact, we haven't moved that product since we had a total refit back in October, and you've been in several times a week since you dozy old fool.

Old people = >75% of our customer base. Whilst we're always polite, go at their pace, get out of their way, help them as much as possible, some of them just grunt and throw things at you. It's rather annoying.

What winds you up about shopping in supermarkets?

A few of mine...

- People queueing for ages and then when it's finally their turn they faff around looking for their money/card. WHY DIDN'T YOU GET IT READY WHILE YOU WERE WAITING YOU MORON???

- Going to buy 2-3 items, heading to the cigarette counter with only a couple of people in the queue, but they buy **** loads of lottery crap that takes ages ><

- Fat people.

- People who bump into you and don't apologise, or even aknowledge it.

- Checkout monkeys who are rude.

- Being rushed after you have paid. It's like they somehow expect me to pack everything in 3 seconds flat and go away, regardless of how much stuff I've bought.

- Shelf stackers pushing the big cages around and look at you like you're getting in THEIR way. :/

I could go on and on and on... :/

What are your own supermarket rages?

people faffing about trying to get there money , whats the problem , what if its a person on their own who has to pack his own bags they cant be packing there bags and holding there money at the same time!

the cigarette counter is where you go for lottery crap and thags , did you not know this ?

They tend to be the same people who don't get their cash out before getting on a bus though, instead raking through their purse/wallet for about a minute, holding everyone else up... :P
