TROLLY RAGE!!

Fully trolley or need help packing your own bags = go to a checkout :) for people that like a quick in out (;)) and have a small amount of shopping, they take up a small amount of space and save time :D I normally just scan things in any order (except offers, 2 for 1's and stuff) on the rare occasion the scanner doesn't like a particular bar code instantly, just try harder xD with the exact force thing, I put the item in the packing area, it recognises it, maybe your Tesco ones are rubbish?

EDIT: just saw you said there was no people on the tills, that's bad, shame on them!

24/7 stores usually have some one on a till until midnight and then it's all self service. I was the last one in until 11 tonight even though the store closed at 12, with the team leader and lad of self service left. I served 3 people between half 10 and 11. Last week I served 1 person. Everyone uses self service for anything and everything now. I really don't understand how people find them so hard to use.

I helped a 90 year old woman yesterday lift her bags back into a trolley who had just used self service, if she can use it then anyone can!

Re iviv, I always go into auto-mode. I was flexied from 2 till 5:15 today, I literally can not remember anything that happened in those hours. Then when I came to start my normal shift at 5:45 I felt like I had just come into work and only just woke up. :D And the new touch screens are shockingly bad, so many times I'll press 6 and it comes up with 2 on the screen... :confused: such a pain!


Supermarkets in my eyes should be so easy to run if you just plans things properly, but the Tesco I've been working at is shocking. The store manager is a **** (c word), and they are constantly failing on something.


There are lots of things I hate about supermarkets, working in them and shopping in them as well. :D

Fat People? In what way do Fat People annoy you?

And if you've ever pushed pallets around, you'll know how hard it is to get it to move when full. It's a bit annoying when you have to stop it and then give it a fair bit of push to get it moving again, all because some arrogant idiot who isn't willing to move for a split second.
 
1. Speed-scanning
This is where at the checkout they scan your stuff at 1000 items/second so youre there trying to bag them and stuff is flying at you like an artillery barrage.

2. Prying new bags apart
Yea. You all know this one. Some checkout staff dont seperate the bags for you and so you are desperately trying to open them and have to resort to licking fingertips to get the stupid things seperated.

ARghhhhhh!! They are at least in Tescos opening the bags for you now, and not only that but making the bags easier to open too. Better late than never!!!

But sometimes they don't do it :(:(

You don't need to scan your BOGOF's back to back. The tills do keep track of things like that automatically :)
 
i had some old dear on the checkout, roll her eyes at me for not having my own bags, I hate that now they make you feel like hitler if you ask for a bag
 
Biggest one for me is "Unexpected item in bagging area" or "Please wait for assistance". Sometimes happens because my bag has leaned off to the side, other times I have no idea why the machine is confused.

Too bad though, the customer is there to spend their money in the store and should not be inconvenienced by staff. It's basic good service and expected for the staff to be professional, courteous and put customers first at all times, even if the customer isn't very considerate. I don't know when it became acceptable for supermarket staff to show a bad attitude to customers, but it seems fairly common now.

Also pallets reaaaaaaaally shouldn't be on the floor during opening hours tbh.
