Hey guys,

I have a cm Stryker with a h100i mounted in the roof and a gtx 770 which I plan on making a custom loop for. I heard that you can mount radiators 240mm at the bottom and a 360mm at the front with no modifications such as removing drive cages or removing PSU. Is this right?

I want to know what radiator I should get for my gtx 770?

However I plan on buying a corsair 350d in the future so I would also like space for my radiators in that.

Thanks.

You can put a 240mm on the bottom but if you do then you cant mount the 360 in the front. So you will have to mod the case and put it in the roof.

I have 2*240mm 60mm thick rads one in the roof (with some moddification) and one in the bottom. they are cooling a 4670k and a 7970

Two 240mm looks fine...

Should I put my CPU under the custom loop as well?

I also need someone to explain what tube size and what compression fittings I should get...

I have the stryker and have a 240 rad fitted in the roof without any modifications. I know you can fit a 240 rad in the bottom with no problem.

I got these fittings: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-108-XS&groupid=962&catid=1529&subcat=2586

With this tubing: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-132-XS

I haven't used any clamps as the tubing fits really tight over the barbs. For maintenance I flush and clean the system every 6 months (probably overkill tbh, think most people say every 10-12 months but my PC sits right next to a window so gets quite a bit of sunlight).

+Why do these parts cost so much? A corsair h100i is pre-made and does not require any maintenance for half the price. Is the performance benefit greater going custom?

Performance and reliability are massively increased going custom. Not to mention more flexibility in terms of fitment and use.

Does the radiator you have linked to come with fans? Never just ordered a rad on it's own, so not sure.

I know it is more money, but you might want to think about the kit here: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-143-XS&groupid=962&catid=1532

When I bought my watercooling stuff I had to send the pump/res back as it made a hell of a noise. I changed it for the D5, and imo, it seems to be a much better bit of kit.

I remember now when I was thinking of water cooling originally that D5's are the best.

Is it worth the money overall for; increased portability (I take my PC a lot), quieter (I hope than my noctua nh-d14, more aesthetically pleasing and cooler temperatures for my 4.2 i7 3770k. Then when I have the money a gpu block.

For £100 corsair h100i I will have no maintenance, portability, warranty and better cooling. How much improvement does a custom loop really make I just see it too expensive for a 4 degree change.
