Hi there. I'm with talktalk broadband (already put the request through to switch to demon). but in *** mean time I'm having trouble accessing some websites.

www.ebay.co.uk doesn't work (says waiting)
www.facebook.com won't load or loads extremely slowly
www.hotmail.com says "done" after logging in

these are just the one's I've noticed but they are extremely common websites. Are talktalk now limiting the sites that I can access?

I think it's talktlak's fault becuase on the same comptuer when i connect to my neighbour's wireless they all load fine. unless it is something ot do with my router but what could stop just these specific sites from opening?

any help is appreciated

Try a different DNS server, openDNS might do the trick.

http://www.opendns.com

I'd also try deleting all of your temp internet files and cookies too. This may solve the problem you're having with hotmail as it seems like you're actually getting to that website.

Try setting your MTU to 1400 in your router. That should hopefully resolve the issue :)

OpenDNS as suggested above is also a good alternative to TT's DNS servers.

I was with TalkTalk and had exactly the same problems you do. My router (Netgear d834gt) worked fine on BT previously and now works fine on Plusnet after being with TalkTalk.

They have me all kinds of stories about deleting cookies etc on my PC when it was the router and not my PC connecting to them. You will be glad to be shot of them when you leave.

:D
