Have this mobo:

This cooler:

I can see how it fits together theoretically, trouble I'm having is the intel screws for the fan don't fit through the mobo holes. AMD screws do, but then the AMD screws don't fit in the cooler plates.

Don't want to push the intel screws through too hard, feels like they don't fit. Anyone got any suggestions?

MOBO backplate looks unremovable.

I don't think that cooler works with that board, as x99 is 2011v3, and from your other thread, if you got that CPU, the Intel 4820K 3.70GHz (Ivybridge-E) Socket LGA2011 Processor, then it wouldn't work either, as x99 boards are for Haswell-E chips, which is the i7 5820k, 5930k, and the 5960k.

EDIT: Although looking at this x99 bundle, the cooler should fit, as its the one included.

OK, happy to take a small hit on this at this stage and just buy a fan that 100% will fit for sure. I want to be done with this build! Can anyone point me to one they know 100% fits correctly?

Some options here :- http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18620660

The Noctua NH-D15s an awesome cooler (got one myself), but its massive, so would have to see if the case could take it.

The Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 also fits that board (depending on the Ram your using) :- https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-015-NC&groupid=701&catid=2330

Mainboard Compatability :- http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=compatibility_gen&products_id=41&lng=en#LGA2011-3_MSI

Ram Compatability :- http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=compatibility_ram_gen&products_id=34&lng=en#DDR4_Corsair

Fantastic coolers the Noctuas. :)
