hi everyone,

i have an abit nf7 v2 mboard which supports SATA 1.5 and i have bought a seagate 320gb SATA drive - the jumpers have been set to 1.5. I have downloaded the drivers and the flashing programme as i don't have a floppy drive, but i have no idea how to "flash to the bios". Is this what i need to do and if so how do i do it? Or is there an alternate means of getting my system to recognise my new hd.

many thanks

Have you tried it with no jumpers on the HDD?

My A7N8X Deluxe uses the same SATA controller as your NF7 (Sil3112) and it picked up my WD SATAII 250GB disks with no troubles.

When you boot, just after POST do you get the SATA/RAID screen come up or not?

Are you just trying to install the drive alongside a current Windows install or are you wanting to install Windows afresh?

If it is just adding alongside head into Disk Manager and it should already be there, why do you think you need to flash the BIOS, is there supposed to be an incompatibility between the two?
