trouble installing vista

cant seem to install vista on my new build

when i get to the screen where you choose which partition and clk next
i get this message

"windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation"

i have a 250gb seagate and a western digital 250gb but only one drive shows up in vista partition set up screen thingy

i did a quick google and its going on about a mass storage driver

my motherboard is a abit ip35

can anyone help us
 
Have you cretaed and formateed the partition before you selected it for installation?

Click advanced disk options on the slectec partitionpage to do this if you have not.
 
Also the partition has to be formatted to NTFS.

Take a look at

I would Start with:

Method 8: Use the Diskpart.exe utility to clean the disk, and then run Windows Vista Setup again (To ensure that you start with a clean state)

Then take a look at

Method 3: Provide the correct drivers for the hard disk controller (You will need the drivers for your motherboard)

Then Look at the logs for futher diag.

Method 4: Examine the Setupact.log file to verify that the partition is active

thanks for the reply superplay i got it going in the end

i formatted the 2nd drive in winxp then unhitched the primary drive with xp on and set the 2nd drive as the primary drive and vista installed

it wasnt playing ball though the other day with the faulty motherboard i had
