Trouble loading Vista onto sata

Could someone please advise me on installing Vista.

I am trying to use my spare sata HD to install Vista onto it but gets the following error message:

Windows can not be installed to this hard disk space. The partition contains one or more dynamic volumes yjay are not supported for installation

Could you please advise on what I should be doing?

Only certain versions of Vista support dynamic volumes - Ultimate, Enterprise and Business editions. If you're trying to use one of the other ones then it won't go for it although I would have thought that there would be an option to delete the partition regardless of content and start again.
