Trouble opening ports

Hi all,

I know this is the ultimate newb question, but I'm having trouble forwarding my ports - thing is I've done it lots of times on previous routers and had no trouble. I now have a Draytek 2850 and while the process is the same, I can't for the life of me seem to get it to actually work.

Here's my port forwarding settings pages:

Now I've set up my personal PC to be on that static IP, but no matter how much I try, it doesn't seem to forward the ports.

Any help would be great.

Could be a daft question, but are you positive your PC is at that IP address? And that your PC has those ports open on its firewall?

Are you sure you have the correct protocols and correct WAN port?

This is what my ipconfig reads back as so I'm fairly sure:

Not sure what you mean by protocols? TCP and UDP? I think so...

I chose WAN2 because it shows this

Check it's 100% the right IP.
Check it's the right WAN port.
Disable local firewall whilst testing, if this is the issue, then create a firewall rule also.

Is that the right page?

I think they usually let you pick the local port you want it mapped to.. forwarding might not be the same as opening..

From memory, I think it's 'port redirection' on Draytek models.

You can use 'port redirection' or 'open ports' depending on what you're trying to achieve.

Port redirection only deals with single ports but allows for port translation.

Open ports will handle port ranges but doesn't allow for port translation.

How you were doing it originally looked okay.

Have you checked that it isn't a firewall issue on the PC?
Where are you testing from? If it's from the LAN side you can get strange results.

I'd reset the router to factory and reconfigure it from scratch. I've used various models of DrayTek router and opening/forwarding ports has never been an issue.

BTW don't you have the option of selecting UDP/TCP as the protocol rather than specifying them separately?

Is there a reason you are not using WAN 1?

Have you tried the set up using WAN 1 instead of WAN 2?

This

Never had a problem with them, the interface is a tad different, but can always find your way around them.

OK I'll try setting up the router again...

I'll leave it to after Christmas though, don't want to upset the family if something goes wrong!
