Really need some help please.

Well Ive burnt the ISO image for freeNAS to CD, tested it on my current system to make sure it booted from it correctly and it did so. I then proceeded to attempt to boot it from the system I wish it to be installed on and get told to please insert a bootable medium and reboot.

The only difference I can think of is that the first system i tried it on used a DVD-RW drive (the system it worked okay for), and the system I want to put it on uses a CD-RW drive (relatively old now). Do you guys think this might be the problem? I dont know what else to try really, so any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Spec of system:

Sempron 3000+
ASUS M2A-VM (onboard graphics)
512mb Corsair Value RAM
Tagan 480W PSU (overkill I know but I will be using this over a Winpower one, until I get a lower powered, more reliable PSU)
2x160Gb Samsung drives - both work fine but I dont see these been the problem anyway.

Cheers in advance

Only one way of finding out really, put the dvd-rw in the pc you want to install on, if it boots then its a problem with the cdrw, if it doesnt then you probably havent set the booting options properly.

... and on another note, that freNAS software looks pretty good, i shall try it out on a spare pc @ work tomorrow :D

yeah i stumbled across it on a tomshardware guide :D would b spiffin if i could get it working :p

Im certain the booting priorties are fine, as in its selected to boot from the CD. Guess ill have to try out the drive when i get back home. Can't think of anything else to troubleshoot really :(, ill jus keep my fingers crossed

Right ive got the drive working, and now it wont install. It worked fine on the other system so I know theres nothing wrong with the CD. Ive installed XP on the PC so I know all the hardwares working okay.

This is the screen i get during installation, just a continuous rebooting cycle
