My grandads pc just broke so he gave it to me. I slaved the harddrive to get the info off and thats fine. But it wont boot up. It turns on, powers up, gets to the XP loading screen and turns off. There is a clicking noise and it goes off. I think it could be the pcu or ram but i have no experence. What do you think? Are there any self diagnosis websites ormtroubleshooting guides for future? Thanks

you can try MEMTEST for ram and try a different PSU to see if the old one is dead (borrow one from another machine).

I would suggest running FIXBOOT from the recovery console, otherwise use the recovery console to restore it. if that doesn't work then reload it.

Memtest can run from a bootable disc or remove one stick of ram.
Can you test components in another machine.

Can you try to work out when the clicking noise is coming from? Sounds like your hdd might be failing.
