Hi there
Completely out of my depth here, I've just upgraded my CPU and RAM. The motherboard is Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming 3 AMD B350 (Socket AM4) DDR4 ATX. The old processor was a AMD Ryzen 5 Six Core 1600 3.60GHz (Socket AM4).
The new processor is a AMD Ryzen 7 3700 X, 8 core. (Socket AM4). Unfortunately once the new one was in and booted up none of my peripherals worked. All fans/lights are on but the keyboard/mouse/monitor don't work. I tried it with the old CPU again and it works fine. I tried clearing CMOS but that didn't work.
Read up online about updating BIOS and am about to try updating it with one of Gigabytes tools.
Will this impair my PC's ability to run the old processor if BIOS is updated? Additionally, does anyone have experience with similar problems when upgrading CPUs?
Cheers
