Hey guys,

I've just had virgin media installed, 50Mb/s with 1.5Mb upload.

Running Speedtest.net I'm able to get peak download speeds of about 49Mb/s and download speeds that peak about 1.4 and average about 0.8Mb/s.

However, having setup FileZilla Server on my box I'm unable to download at more than 200Kb/s from it. I installed FileZilla Client on the server to see what upload speeds I could get directly from the box to hosted server, but again they peak at about the same.

Am I missing something here? Is there some hidden FileZilla setting I'm missing or is there something I need to configure to optomise the connection?

I'm running Windows 7 on an HP Proliant Microserver

Cheers,
Roy

1.5Mbps = ~187KB/sec.

So (if I've read you correctly) a server on that machine will upload at under 200KB/sec... which will therefore be the maximum download speed from it from other machines (i.e. it's maximising your upstream bandwidth). Your later upload test got the same speeds, because that's your line max.

It sounds like you're confusing megabits and megabytes per second.
