US: True Blood Season 6 (contains spoilers)

June 16th is the premiere date and just read will only be 10 episodes due Anna Paquin's pregnancy.

Always wanted the series to be a bit longer so sucks this one is going to be so short!

That is short, but hopefully it means things move quickly and we don't end up with 'filler' episodes.

Filler episodes were never True Blood's issue - it's filler storylines (uninteresting manufactured drama to give side characters something to do). These filler storylines are threaded into each episode, taking time away from the far more interesting main storylines.

If the main limiting factor this series is Anna Paquin's screen time, then I fear we may see more of this rather than less. Hopefully they will use the pretext of a war to "cleanse" the show of its many now unnecessary characters. Perhaps a nice massacre at Merlotte's?

I personally like the side story lines of true blood (last seasons weren't as good though especially the fire demon/terry side story line), it was always refreshing to see a change rather than just the main story line being the only thing. I also love the main characters that play a part in them i.e. Alcide, Sam, Andy, lafayette, the show wouldn't be the same without them, well for me anyway :p

The fairy stuff is a load of nonsense and probably the worse part of season 5 imo, just doesn't feel like it fits in with this type of show, perhaps it is just the execution of that whole part and the way that they are, which doesn't help....

It is a shame that this is even shorter now, I also would like it to be a bit longer, 16 episodes perhaps? But not at the cost of reducing the quality/pace of each episode and having true filler episodes (filler episodes to me are the smallville episodes :p)

Goody! :D

TVLine has learned exclusively that Anna Camp has signed on to reprise her role as anti-vamp puritan Sarah Newlin for a guest stint.

Camp, who’s currently juggling roles on Fox’s Mindy Project and CBS’ Vegas, floated the possibility of a Sarah comeback earlier this year, telling TVLine that her character has “a lot of unfinished business.”

No doubt at the top of her to-do list is confronting ex-husband and former Fellowship of the Sun co-head Steve (Michael McMillian), who is now an out-and-proud gay man and a vampire.

Don’t be surprised if she also finds time to reconnect with ex-flame Jason, which would put her at odds with his current love, Jessica. (Anna Camp going head-to-head with Deborah Ann Woll? Count. Us. In.)

Can't wait to see Steve Newlin again! :D He was epic in the last season :D

Yeah, Steve Newlan was a scene-stealing beast in the last series :D I'll miss seeing him with Russell Edgington. It'll be interesting to see how he reacts to his wife...

"You know, in person she looks like vanilla pudding".

I felt last season, whilst enjoyable, showed the decline in the series as a whole. There are some really strong characters - comedic or otherwise - but I really didn't like some of the religious / faerie etc stuff. That, and some parts in the vampire 'den' felt like it was very cheaply produced.

I hope this season pulls it around.

I find it impossible to choose which season is the best out of them all :p My mind changes all the time, all are epic imo, season 3 and 1 stand out the most and I think season 4 was perhaps the weakest....

I really liked last season, however, it missed the "vibe" of the other seasons, I think a large part of it was to do with what you mentioned there and being stuck in that chancellor HQ's for most of the time as opposed to good old Bon Temps.

I hope we see more of Maxine Thortenberry and Bon temps location this time and less of the fairy crap, at least the stupid "fairy/night/dance club" anyway! :p

TBH since the first season I feel the show has been in a slow decline with the previous season being a lot worse than the rest

hehe :D Any time :)

Indeed! She has certainly come a long way since she first appeared on this show  haha likewise! :D Love the humour in this show, it is just spot on!
