True Quad Core CPU?

The Q6600 is better, but isn't a 'true' quad-core.

i've held back in getting that for the longest time, Yet, im still holding back in the hopes AMD will have something that rivals that.

it seems more and more intel is the way to go now.

The Intel Quads are 2 x Dual Cores stuck together. The AMD Phenom x4's are proper Quad Cores as such.

However the Q6600 will be better, or look at one of the newer Q9000 series 45nm chips from Intel.

At stock they're actually about the same give or take. The AMD chip is £20 more expensive but then so are Intel motherboards. If you want to overclock then the intel is going to be better, if not then I'd go for the 9850 as Intel change there chipsets far too often for my likeing.

There is a review for the 9850 here: http://techreport.com/articles.x/14424/1
