hey,

so im using windows 7 pro however being pro it doesn't use bit locker so i was thinking of using truecrypt for my os partition. However how slow will the decryption be of the read/write ? on an atom processor I read a little about it and it says there'll be no slow down(with words to that effect)

any clue or ideas?

I've heard the performance hit is in the 5-15% range for a normal desktop processor. The slowest processor I've ever run it on is a 2Ghz Celeron and it worked fine.

Try it and see how it works for you, you can always decrypt it.
