TRX40 AORUS XTREME (rev. 1.1) battery replacement

of course, I'll let you know when they answer me

if I have to disassemble the whole computer due to an ordinary battery ... this is really not normal in my opinion. specifically in my case, i would have to remove the processor heatsink. and I really don't want to ...

I'm sorry for my english. it's just google translator

theres no easy way to say but you will need to take the motherboard out and remove the highlighted screws to remove the whole trim (plastic) part on the otherside to access the cmos battery to replace

after the screws are out the part highlighted below should be free to access under it (cmos battery)

That is one wonky setup of a board considering it's an Xtreme. It's a flagship line. Why would they lockout a battery so hard?

Even on my Z490 Aorus Xtreme, it's a little similar but... It's below the second plate where the remaining two M2 slots are located. You can still get to it with the motherboard in the case. In my setup I cannot access it because a radiator is in the way.

I got this answer from Gigabyte support:
After confirmed with related department, the cover is removable; however, it may cause the hardware damage while removing it. Therefore, we suggest you to contact your supplier (where you bought this product) and let them help you to remove it.
That is all...

Well, she didn't please me. I don't understand that replacing a CMOS battery is literally a pain with such a premium and expensive product. Until I disassemble the entire computer, remove the motherboard from the case, the battery cannot be replaced. It's really incomprehensible to me that replacing a battery that takes 10 seconds will take me all day. My fault. If I had found out before, I would never have bought the TRX40 AORUS XTREME. Otherwise, the motherboard is great, it works perfectly. But the fact about the extremely complicated replacement of CMOS batteries is incomprehensible to me.

Wow that's ridiculous .

A simple job turned into a nightmare by poor planning as a simple removable cover would make it easily accessible.
