I ran Registry Mechanic and Ram Booster yesterday, and ever since then

I can copy but not paste (greyed out)
Cannot open Windows media Player (Say low memory even though I have a gig)
No sound drivers anymore
No longer have tabs on taskbar when minimized.
Cannot move desktop icons about by dragging them.

Any ideas apart from a total reinstall ?

(Also cannot access any restore points )

I disable it because, for me, it's completely unnecessary...

Thats ok with it in bold but, I was just commenting on the statement for the benefit of the OP :D

It was enabled, but I cant get to the restore files. Comes up with errors galore.
Never mind, was due a rebuild soon anyway coz it was cluttered with stuff. Luckily through DOS, i can still copy files onto memory stick and place onto a laptop.

Registry mechanic will have taken backups, restore them.

As for 'RAM Booster', it sounds dodgy and probably didn't take backups

EDIT

Actually, just reinstall XP, it'd be the cleanest option.
