See I assumed the way in that they want more people to buy the 360 version so they are giving us free future downloadable content. Still up in the air I assume, they would be stupid to announce now that it will cost money as it will impact sales in advance!! Your way of thinking makes more sense.

If it was good content I would pay anyway.

That's what I thought as well, that MS were paying for extra content and providing it free for their Live subscribers as a good will gesture and incentive to buy the 360 version and not PS3.

In reality they will probably slap a hefty price tag on it though.

If the PS3 version was technically any better, well generally in graphics then that might make it a harder decision which to choose.

2008 can still be a great year for PS3 owners

Sadly (for both camps) I think there will be pressure on Rockstar to make both versions of the disc released game as identical as possible (with any differences being via DLC).

I still believe that these delays are in making the game perform identically on both platforms. Be that through one of the 360's shortcomings, or one of the PS3s, No-one knows for certain.

In reality people with only a 360 will get that one, people with only a ps3 will get that one, the small percentage of crossover people will have to think a bit. This isn't a system selling title anymore imo as it is a multiplatform simultaneous release.

yeah apparently its online multiplayer enabled.

as with crackdown Im assuming they will use their downloading ability to update the game and use their microsoft points scheme to pay for it. if not that then you will have to buy a disc from a store which will probably cost them more. the file sizes could vary but I doubt they would be so big as to use a dvd disc. most demos are around 700 - 1gb downloads and dont take long from the microsoft servers.

Same here, I'd be amazed if you didn't have to pay for it. Microsoft aren't just going to throw $50,000,000 into something without recouping some of it.
