Apparently my sale is on tomorrow, runs from 8-3pm then they send you the best offer.

I understand you can pull out if it's not what you want etc.

Anyone used the service? Horror stories?

I've used carwow a couple of times who use the same model. No hassle and no hard push, first time I had set a reserve higher than they had suggested and got what I was looking for, second time landed pretty much bang in the middle of the range, happy with both

I don't think motorway let you adjust the reserve maybe I missed that.

They have estimated my Megane RS300 at £24,750 (which is on the lower end of what I want)

But webuy is £22k now, renault offered £24k, so there is hope. I'd ideally like to clear £26k but I'm doubtful with this service

Private that would be achieved but I have outstanding finance and it's just an extra hassle/concern that these companies resolve easily

I used them twice this year. First car sold was an Audi A4 Avant which they put up with a reserve of £17500, ended up going for £19350.

Second car was a 5 door Mini Hatch, which I think they put up with a reserve of £11,400 and that went for around £12,300 from memory.

Both cars were collected from us within a week or so and they were only here for around 15 minutes to do the inspection, transfer money etc. All money was in our banks before they had driven off.

I think if they are newer cars they tend to be a bit better, my Mum tried selling my grandparents car and even though they supposedly had a bid, the sale fell through. Ended up just taking it to webuyanycar. That was a 2009 Fiesta though so less likely to be wanted by car supermarkets which seems to be where Motorway sell to, at least that's where ours ended up going.

Promising! Thanks

I'll update later. It's a sought after car right now so I'm hopeful to an extent.

I guess as I have finance they deal with that here too, and I can somehow confirm it's all good before I let it go. Then the balance/equity direct to myself

Have used them twice. First time was an 18 month old Zoe in mint condition a few years ago - got basically bang on the estimate, which was still double what WBAC etc. were offering! Was a quick and easy process, hence why I used them again recently.

Sold my Octavia through them earlier this year, was up for £2.5k, but it didn't sell in the first auction, dropped the price and relisted the 2nd day, but only ended up with £1,750 - ended up taking it in the end as based on the work which was needed, I figured I was unlikely to get more than a couple of hundred more privately, and could be waiting months for a buyer. Again, once I'd accepted the offer, the process was quick and easy.

TL;DR; your success will probably depend on the quality of the car, but I found them a pleasure to deal with, and their valuations are significantly better than some of the other services.

I had an offer of £27,450ish so have gone with that. Seems like a really fair price imo and about what I had in mind for sure.

I can't see there being any issues on collection, photos provided were accurate, included the chips that I know of etc.

Fingers crossed for a smooth settlement

Good result, better than I thought you would get.

Same, let's see how I goes!

Part of me is now panicking that I may have put the wrong number of keepers but there's now no way to check my profile so will call in morn just to make sure its correct. Pretty sure it's ok, I just can't remember even being asked that

When I sold the Zoe it had outstanding finance, but I just had to provide the details to the dealer when they turned up - they paid it off directly to Renault Finance, who emailed me over confirmation straight away, and then bank transferred the balance to me.

Motorway don't actually buy the car directly, they are essentially just a glorified auction house, so finance settlement will be down to the dealer who actually bought it, but assuming you've told Motorway about it, the dealer should be aware and ready to sort it.

Yeah this is how I understand it too. Once I accepted the offer I sent them an email from Lloyds with the settlement info and so on, along with v5 and driving license photos.

The dealer also emailed me right away asking some final questions which I answered straight away and now all has gone silent :D it does say allow 48hrs but just weird they emailed and haven't replied to my response

Car is being collected tomorrow :D fingers crossed it goes well. Finance can take up to 3 days to clear which of course is a worry but they are a big garage I'm sure it's all good.

Hopefully the appraisal goes well and they are happy it matches my ad, can't see why not

I had a similar thing with Motorway - the buying dealer said explicitly it'll take at least 24 hrs to pay off any money as it is a different department/join the queue type nonesense.

Yeah plus this will fall over a weekend! I think the equity sum is sent straight to me and think that's instant, it's more that it takes a while to register with the bank/PCP company will update here tomorrow wish me luck!

Update today, gutted the car gave it a good clean ready for today's collection

Just had a call from the garage asking if their collection company had been in contact yet (which they hadn't) so they chased them up. Their driver has had a family emergency today so the car can't be collected :(

Rescheduled for Monday. They usually use their own guy but he's off at the moment and they are buying so many cars that they often use this third party. Not filling me with confidence at the mo but hopefully Monday goes ok!

Dealer has a good reputation and I know it's out of their hands, just wanted it tied up today as toward the end of next week the PCP payment will probably go out even if it's cleared in time :)

Mine was picked up by a 3rd party too. There is a network of gig economy workers dotted all over the place with trade plates. Good job for people who otherwise wouldn't get out much!

Yeah I kind of wanted to request we wait until their own guy was back from holiday/available but I'm sure it's ok must be the norm

Just not sure what to expect in terms of appraisal from a third party, where do their interests lay in that regard.
