Hi guys,

Is anyone around Birmingham that knows places that sell mechanical keyboards in store ?

I've never used a mechanical keyboard but would like to give one a tapping before I consider spending the £100+. Do places like curry's/pcworld have them ?

any suggestions ?

Thanks

Purple shirts world have some mechanical keyboards, check their website and see what's in stock.

Whether they will let you test them, is another matter, can call up your local store and ask. You may be better going down to DSR route, ordering one, see if you like it, if not return within 7 days.

Remember:
Blues = Typing
Blacks = Gaming
Reds = Gaming with lighter keystrokes
Browns = Medium between gaming & typing.

I just bought myself a Cooler Master QuickFire TK, which has brown switches and white backlit LED's. It was around £80, I came from a Zowie Celetritas and love it, the size is much smaller, but still has all the function you want of a normal sized keyboard.

I just picked up a Steelseries 6Gv2 this week, which uses Black keys. It's pretty awesome for gaming and still feels great for typing.

Took a bit of getting used to as some of the keys are very sensitive, (Spacebar especially) but I really love it.

If I was you i'd just order something and if you don't like it you can always send it back.
