Trying something different with landscapes

Hey all, a couple from the weekend, trying different processing on photos to give them a 'different' look, any comments welcome

For me I think the top one is really good, it has a mood to it brought about by the colour and the sea itself, it might benefit from a bit of a split tone however.

The bottom one I am afraid to say just looks a bit dull, it could do with something i am just not sure what... I think the hint of colour in it is either not enough colour or too much (if you get what I am saying)

Yeah the more i look at it, the more I see what your saying, i was going for an 'old photo' colour tone, ah well, better luck next time
