Trying to boot from USB

Hey all I'm trying to update the BIOS on my BFG board using a USB key but have gotten myself completely lost.

I've been following guides etc but still not getting anywhere, I've tried using the HP Drive BootKey software and now my USB key shows permanently as a local harddrive.

I'm really at my wits end now as in 3 hours I've gotten nowhere. I've got the BFG BIOS update, but it says boot to DOS - which doesn't help as I want to update the BIOS before I install Vista.

Have you turned on the setting in the bios to boot from a usb device?

YES!! Finally worked it out - I wasn't formatting it as a floppy - I was formatting it as a HDD which was causing the problems =D

Onwards and upwards eh?
