i bought this setup for 1 of my kids in may but i was going to get another setup for my son but its all out of stock nearly and im not sure im going to get similar setup for £300 ....

THe A10 is on offer for just a few quid more than the A8 (A10 has better graphics). Unless you want to drop to the A6 which is a dual core for £50.

The mobo I used allows overclocking, has sataIII and USB3 and also has a HDMI output.......does he have a little HDTV he could run the rig through.....save on getting a screen?

Look for a 2nd hand 1GB 460 or a 6850 (seen them on our MM for £50ish). These are actually better than the new £100 GPUs on the market ;)

No I know, I'm just saying the estimated price for one second hand. Any £50 GPU you buy new wont be any better than the IGP in the A6 APU really. Look for a 1GB 460 2nd hand is the best advice I can give to add more ooompf for gaming
 
ok no worries :) as long as it plays minecraft and some mmos oh and the other card i bought plays borderlands 2 quite well

Thats the idea, I've seen the mods bend the rules on occasions for long term memebers. I have a 1GB 460 OC'd to 900Mhz, I still find it capable with the new drivers but it has crossed my mind to sell it and then a 2GB 7850 would cost me £100 (assuming i get £50 for the 460) and it comes bundled with a few games which must be worth £60 or more ;)

Why bother?


I dont want to knock the guy who made the vid but he used 4GB of 1600Mhz RAM. I managed to spec you 8GB at 1866Mhz, the IGP will love the faster RAM and that you have more to spare, so expect "our spec" to do better than the vid ;)

I think they are trying to say.. don't worry about the GPU just yet. The A10's have good onboard GPU abilities already so will breeze through Minecraft and most other MMOs without any real problem. You may have to drop the graphic levels down a notch or so but won't be a problem. Then you can keep an eye out on for a 2nd hand one they mentioned when everybody sells their old kit that xmas pressies replace..
 
oh crap lol, too full of cold to realize half the stuff at the moment hehe, i didnt know the mobo had onboard graphics. so i should go for the a10 over the a6
